“Someday soon we will all be together, if the fates allow; until then we will have to muddle through somehow.” ~ Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Another Holiday Season is underway! Music, decorations, sales galore, so much going on all at once!
I love this time of year! I love the get togethers and celebrations especially the time spent with family and friends. There have been lots to celebrate this year for the McCann’s. Our newest addition, Madison!! Happy for my nephew Sean and his beautiful wife, Glenna becoming parents. My nephew Jimmy got married and his lovely wife, Bri got accepted to the anesthesia program she applied for in her nursing profession! My nephew Chris landed his dream job as Athletic Director for Mineola. And despite unexpected medical issues for two of my sisters-in-law, Maryam and Jeannie as well as my brother Kevin having hip surgery, everyone is doing well and on the road to recovery.
All these celebrations are filled with love and family coming together. As I think of everything we celebrated during the year, I am reminded again how the Holidays get to be celebrated any way we choose.
It doesn’t have to be a big fan-fare. If you want a big fan-fare, enjoy the planning!
If all you want to do is step away and just be. Do that!
I love tradition but sometimes tradition can be emotional and too much when we’re not feeling cheery. I believe it’s always okay to change tradition. Let go of the parts of the holiday you don’t like and focus on what you do like.
Celebrate your way!
Let others be there if you need support!
Feel good anyway you can, as best you can!
Try to slow down as much as possible and take in the beauty everywhere.
Spend time during the holidays doing only those things that make you feel good. Find appreciation for all there is. Maybe fill your heart up by telling someone you appreciate how much they mean to you. Write a note if that is easier.
Most importantly, celebrate you! Acknowledge all you’ve accomplished this year. Be kind. Be appreciative and be extra good to you!
Celebrate the Holiday Season Your Way!
Wishing you love, friendship and blessings galore.
