“There is something in the marvelous in all things of nature.” ~ Aristotle
Labor Day Weekend marks the end of Summer. The holiday weekend is an ideal time to enjoy the sunshine, a cool breeze and good company. Before long, the new season will be upon us and cooler weather will be underway. So take some time to enjoy these last few days of summer. One last time to appreciate the slower pace, kick back, relax and recharge.
And as you enjoy this last weekend of the summer, let’s not forget the importance of nature. Being outdoors surrounded in sunshine, color, and delightful smells gives us an opportunity to slow down and notice the beauty there is an given moment.
Nature is beauty.
Nature gives peace.
Nature is stillness and stillness teaches patience.
Nature is change magnified. Birth, growth, maturity, loss, strength, wisdom, aging, death and the cycle continues with spring, summer, fall, winter and all seasons of life.
Nature is love.
Nature warms you with the sun.
Nature provides a tree that will hold you up when you feel weak, shade you from the heat, comfort you with the soothing sounds of a cool breeze as it hits the leaves.
In the loveliness, in the stillness, in the sun, in the rain, in the cold, questions are answered, minds clear and energy is restored.
Nature is always your friend. In good times and in bad, nature can bring chaos to order, darkness to light, and sadness to joy.
Bask in the green earth, the beauty of endless color, the sand, the sea, the lake, the pond, the sounds of life, the sounds of silence, the smell of beauty, the smell of fresh air and the miracles of this world we are blessed to live in.
And it’s easier than ever to reap these benefits on a regular basis. Start small and get instant results. A brisk walk 5-10 minutes can reduce stress. Take the pressure off a worried mind and move your body, change the scenery and let nature do the rest.
So I ask you dear one, when was the last time you spent some time in nature?
