“Winter is a time to gather golden moments and enjoy every idle hour.”
~ John Boswell
Winter is here! Thoughts of cold, dreary days, snow, ice, wind and rain can feel too much. Images like this make you want to stay under a cozy blanket, cover your eyes and day dream about warm, sunny days to come.
There is also a bright side to Winter. It is a time for hot chocolate, good company and meaningful conversations. Winter is a time to huddle indoors and take a break.
January may be the perfect time to withdraw from the cold, slow down, gather those you care about, contemplate life and everything it means to you.
Winter can be a time for reconnection. Especially with yourself if in these first few weeks of January you are busier than you’ve imagined, and it feels the pace won’t slow down anytime soon. Don’t forget to get together with friends and loved ones you may not have had the chance to enjoy during the holiday season.
Winter will always bring cold, snowy, difficult days to travel and navigate but it can also bring days of quiet, warmth and relief.
If the bleak days of Winter get the best of you, carve out time to visit a friend, enjoy a meal at your favorite restaurant, curl up with a good book, or spend time just being still.
We don’t have to dread the cold days of Winter when we remember we can have lots of warm, cozy days too!
