I’ve had the kind of day no quote can fix. ~ Richard E. Goodrich
There are many times in life where I have held on to a quote, a saying, a Bible verse or some form of inspiration that moved me and helped me to feel better.
Often, “Words of Wisdom” get me through the moment or the day and I can breathe a sigh of relief all is well and everything will work itself out.
I have an arsenal of favorites:
“This too shall pass” – my favorite of all favorite quotes.
When I feel spiritual and want something more, one of my favorite Bible quotes is: “For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future”. This verse has surrounded me more times than not with a warm hug.
And then there’s the inspiration found in music and one song comes to mind, “I Hope You Dance” by LeeAnn Womack. I never get tired of listening to this song. I love it and each time I listen, I feel inspired to keep taking chances and move forward!
What about the days when nothing seems to help?
There are days when everything is overwhelming and words, quotes, inspiration all seem glib and meaningless. There are days when thoughts feel puny and nothing means anything. There are days when you just want to throw your hands up in the air and say, “I’ve had enough”.
You need to do just that. Throw your hands up in the air. Enough! Forget about the “Words of Wisdom”.
Sometimes, the best thing to do is to acknowledge nothing feels better and that is okay!
I’ll never stop loving my favorite quotes or sayings. They are instilled in me.
When you feel better, “Words of Wisdom” will be waiting for you and you will embrace them once again.
For today, be extra kind to you and do something special for yourself. Tomorrow is a new day.
